Addendum to previous post

We think our readers will be interested to know that we contacted a Christian organisation and a newspaper about the letter from Conor Keys because we thought that they would be alarmed at the contents of the letter, which we permitted representatives of both parties to read via e-mail, and we further thought that they would conclude (as we did) that the letter was either,

A) an example of a possible attempt to interfere with the electoral process and influence the outcome of same

And/or

B) A striking example of ant-Christian hostility i.e “hate speech” that label so loved by the PC lobby but which was never meant to be used to protect Christians.

Neither the Christian organisation (Christian Legal Centre) nor the newspaper (Belfast News Letter) showed any willingness to pursue the matter, and, in the case of the newspaper, no interest at all.

If Conor Keys had written a similar letter to a Muslim  about Islam, you can be sure that the media would have been interested! More than that, the fanatical Left would have considered it a “hanging offence.”

  1. letter was either, A) an example of a possible attempt to interfere with the electoral process and influence the outcome of same…- no it isn’t, the letter was address to yourself and not the electorate as a whole and was written after the election.

    B) A striking example of ant-Christian hostility i.e “hate speech” that label so loved by the PC lobby but which was never meant to be used to protect Christians…. – no it isn’t. No mention of religion in the letter at all. Also “hate speech” is incorrect as it was addressed to you and not spoken on a public platform – it was you who published it.

If Conor Keys had written a similar letter to a Muslim about Islam, you can be sure that the media would have been interested…. – You will never know this (there are plenty of Anti Muslim opinions out there to read without recourse) and furthermore, the letter is about your politics not your religion so twisting it to Islam is quite a strange tangent.

the fanatical Left would have considered it a “hanging offence.”… – really? evidence please, where is your quote from?

Maybe, just maybe for reasons above and plenty more the press are not interested.

    • The letter detailed a strategy on Mr. Keys’ part, a strategy he employed during the 2016 and 2017 Assembly election campaigns with the deliberate goal of reducing my vote to laughable numbers.

The definition of “hate crime” which includes “hate speech” is as follows,
“….any incident or criminal offence which is perceived, by the victim or any other person, to be motivated by a hostility or prejudice based on a person’s religion or faith or perceived religion or faith.”

My politics and my faith are intertwined. My politics flows from and is framed by my faith. Therefore the letter is verbally attacking my faith.

The Left are so fond of their “hate speech” laws that we decided it was time to force them to use their ridiculous law against one of their own i.e Mr.Keys.

If Conor Keys had discussed Islam using the words he used to label me and my views, such as “political ignorance” “hate-filled rage, “nonsense, “rubbish” and “silly,”, the media would have engaged in a feeding frenzy because criticism of Islam is virtually forbidden despite the fact that it is a violent and dangerous religious/political ideology. He would not have written such a letter to a Muslim candidate nor would he have formulated a strategy to reduce the electoral result of such, but he thinks he can attempt to thwart a Christian and the Christian will meekly take it. Think again Mr.Keys.

        • So how would you describe words such as “political ignorance, “hate-filled rage,” “nonsense,” “rubbish” and “silly,” (words used by Conor Keys to describe my views)?

          • I wouldn’t regard any of those as hate speech and, as they described your views and not you, there is no victim, I would describe calling people deviants, depraved and filthy and calling for them to be imprisoned for who they are as verging on incitement to hatred.

Thankfully, partly due to Mr Keys not holding events which you are invited to, your views do not reach many people so their influence is negligible.

I have to point out that it was you yourself who told others to learn to “play the man” in this war you have invented for yourself – see one of your previous posts – so it is a bit rich to try and contrive and then complain about it being used against you.

I suppose I shouldn’t really be surprised to find yet another example of hypocrisy on this blog.

If you cannot accept people expressing their opinions on your performance and views then perhaps you should refrain from doing it to others.

          • “Hate crime” legislation (of which “hate speech” is a component) so loved by the PC lobby is described by them as follows,

“…..any incident or criminal offence which is perceived, by the victim or any other person, to be motivated by a hostility or prejudice based on a person’s religion or faith or perceived religion or faith.”

          • We “perceive” Conor Keys’ letter to be “hate speech” motivated by a “hostility or prejudice based on a person’s religion or faith…..” Pay particular attention Nate to the wording. It doesn’t say that someone hates the person, it says they hate the person’s views. This contradicts what you said in your comment. The PC lobby, to be consistent, must enforce their ridiculous law against those who hate the views of Bible fundamentalists as Mr Keys clearly does.
