On Monday of this week, the Democratic Unionist Party (DUP) in the Northern Ireland Assembly did not oppose the wicked Bill to pardon homosexuals who were convicted of gross indecency (sodomy) before homosexuality was decriminalised.
It is proposed that these “pardons” will be offered posthumously and to the living.
Memo to Stormont. Almighty God has never decriminalised sodomy. His Word has always described it as an abomination and outlawed it as a sin and a crime.
The DUP representation at Stormont includes a sizeable number of individuals who are both MLA’s and Evangelical Christians, and not one of them opposed these “gay” pardons.
If they were present in the Chamber, they were speechless and if they were absent from the Chamber but in Stormont, they were hiding.
Either way, they are cowards who should hang their heads in shame!
Silence in the face of evil is evil itself, so where were you Maurice Morrow, Mervyn Storey, Edwin Poots, Michelle McIlveen, Tom Buchanan and Jim Wells? (This is not an exhaustive list, there are others)
You have been weighed in the balances and found wanting!
We hope that the people who voted for you lot habitually regret it now and will make their displeasure with you clear at the next election.
Despite DUP MLA’s being conspicuous by their absence in Stormont on Monday, all was not lost because there was one courageous man in the Chamber (not a DUP member obviously as they are not known for their courage but rather the lack of it.)
That man was Mr. Jim Allister, the leader of the TUV (Traditional Unionist Voice.) He alone opposed the “gay” pardons.
Well done Mr. Allister, we salute you! Though not members of your Party, we believe in giving credit where credit is due.
The Bible reminds us that the righteous are bold as a lion.
In agreement with this verse, J M Barrie said, “Courage is the thing. All goes if courage goes.”
Samuel Smiles said, “The brave man is an inspiration to the weak, and compels them, as it were, to follow him.”
