Mormons in Coleraine – “Harm watch, Harm catch!”

In October, 2014, an Interfaith event was held at the LDS (Mormon) church in Coleraine, Northern Ireland.
The LDS church is actively seeking to present itself as a Christian denomination, despite the fact that it is a non-Christian cult. In its attempt to achieve this goal, it is aided and abetted by the Ecumenical movement of which the four main denominations, i.e Roman Catholic, Church of Ireland, Presbyterian and Methodist, are active and enthusiastic participants.

The goal of the Ecumenical movement is the realisation of a one world church where theological differences matter little or not at all because unity at all costs (including at the expense of Biblical truth) is the coveted prize.

Evangelical Christians are to remain separate from the Ecumenical movement and shun all involvement with it.

Therefore it was alarming to read an article about the Interfaith event held at the Mormon church in Coleraine because in the list of Churches represented are the names Baptist and Brethren!

We have spoken to the Mormon leader in Coleraine and it is very difficult to establish the truth of the matter, ( i.e were representatives of the Baptist and Brethren present ) because of his ad homenim attacks on us, and because he swayed back and forth like a pendulum in his responses.

We of course contacted the Brethren and Baptist assembly/church in Coleraine to inform them that the LDS church were giving the impression that some(one) from their respective Christian assemblies were present at said event.

We were assured that, to their knowledge, no-one from either Baptist or Brethren were at that Interfaith event.

It seems to us (the writers of this post), that IF someone from the Baptist or Brethren were there, it is obvious they were there in a personal capacity and not as a representative of the Gospel Hall or Baptist Church.

If so, it is our view that they were wrong to go to an LDS church, thereby giving it a respectability it does not deserve.

The Mormon leader in Coleraine did remove the article from the LDS in UK Facebook, but it can still be viewed at the following link and it has not been corrected or elaborated on in any way.

Read it for yourself, and make of it what you will.

  1. people like you annoy me. you use the word cult as if it means something bad. “despite the fact that it is a non-Christian cult”

cult- system of religious veneration and devotion directed towards a particular figure or object.

so don’t you attend a cult? why not befriend the Mormons instead of attacking them? the donated stuff to a charity, isn’t that a good thing?

    • Mormonism is a cult and we state that fact without apology and have no concerns for your “annoyance.” The fact that the LDS church has donated to charity is a moot point. Anyone can donate to charity. The Mormon church has all the marks of a cult as has the Jehovah’s Witnesses, the Moonies, the Seventh Day Adventists etc. Watch the video below, it is enlightening.
