On 22nd February, 1943, Sophie Scholl and her brother Hans and their friend, Christoph Probst, were executed by the Nazis in Germany.
The Scholls were the leaders of a non-violent resistance movement called “The White Rose,” and they printed and distributed leaflets in Germany exposing the atrocities carried out by the Nazis.
Other members of the White Rose were likewise executed by the Nazis at later dates.
We are inspired and greatly moved by the tremendous courage shown by Sophie and her friends.
