Today is Chick – Fil – A Appreciation Day. The event was organised by Mick Huckabee, former Governor of Arkansas and it gives the public the opportunity to show their support for Mr.Dan Cathy, the founder of the restaurant chain, who has been vilified because he supports Biblical marriage.
On a radio show, Mr.Cathy said, “We are very much supportive of the family – the biblical definition of the family unit. We are a family-owned business, a family-led business and we are married to our first wives. We give God thanks for that.”
The reaction to Mr.Cathy’s statement has been predictable and hostile, with radical gays calling for boycotts and “kiss-ins.” The gays have powerful friends in high places and, one of them, Boston Mayor Tom Menino, wrote to Mr.Cathy rescinding their opportunity to open a new franchise in the Boston city limits.
The radical gay lobby can be dangerous as sometimes they resort to violence. We cite the case of Pastor Charles McIlhenny in San Francisco by way of illustration. His home was firebombed while the family slept. This incident occurred in the aftermath of his (right) decision to dismiss his Church organist when it was discovered he was a practising homosexual. Miraculously, the family survived, shocked but otherwise unharmed. This happened in the 1980’s and the persecution of the Pastor and his family is detailed in the book, “When the wicked seize a city.”
Today, we commend Mr.Dan Cathy and his family for their courageous stand. We cannot visit a Chick-Fil-A restaurant in Northern Ireland as there are none but we can (and do )go on record with our support via this post.
