The Presbyterian Minister, David Latimer, continues to call evil good by lavishing praise on evildoers. Last year, he described Martin McGuinness as a “Great Leader”, and this year he welcomes that handshake, and sees Martin McGuinness and Peter Robinson as “God’s men!” David Latimer is the opposite of his courageous namesake, Hugh Latimer, of Latimer, Ridley and Cranmer fame, men who could not be bought at any price because the truth was not for sale, as the Scripture says, “Buy the truth and sell it not”, Proverbs 23 v. 23.
The present day Latimer is a wolf in sheep’s clothing, a blind leader of the blind, a compromiser and a hireling, not a true shepherd at all. Oh, how Sinn Fein must gloat at their “puppet” David Latimer.
We conclude with the magnificent words of Hugh Latimer spoken to Nicholas Ridley who, like him faced a most cruel, agonising martyrs death, “Play the man, Master Ridley; we shall this day light such a candle, by God’s grace, in England, as I trust shall never be put out.”
